Thematic Visits: ‘the senses’
For its first anniversary, the Maison Hannon offers you on Saturday, June 1st, a sensory experience in three parts:
Firstly, an olfactory component with the discovery of the flowers and scents that perfumed the house in 1904. Come and discover the scents of iris, apple blossom, lilies of the valley, etc., which perfume the Maison Hannon and are linked to its decorative, botanical motifs. We offer you a visit to tantalize your sense of smell and understand the fusion of aesthetics and senses, a concept dear to Total Art.
Next, tactile, by exploring the many materials that bring the place to life and the challenge of their restoration. Come and discover the richness of the materials that animate the Maison Hannon and the delicate task that falls to us to preserve, study, and restore these elements and skills during a tactile visit.
And finally, visual, by manifesting the central role of light in this subtle staging. We will follow the course of the sun and understand the paths that Jules Brunfaut and Edouard Hannon studied so that natural light floods the building and penetrates its heart throughout the day.
Perfumes, materials, light all contribute together to the enchanting memory of the Maison Hannon.
